Welcome to Vernola Charolais................
Vernola Charolais Stud was established in 1971, originally started to produce bulls for our own beef herd to increase the weights in our vealer calves.
Cowcroft Emperor, Apollon and Carabinier were some of the first A.I sires used over Angus, Shorthorn and Fresian cows to establish the base of our stud. Sundowner Ranches Monarch NZCZM1H was the first Stud sire introduced in 1979.
From the mid 80's, we started to introduce our first Poll A.I Sires Crown A30, Power and Birchfield Apollon. Currently our herd is 90% poll.
In 1993, the Jenbar Stud was started when we gave our daughter Jen a stud cow. The Jenbar stud is run in conjunction with the Vernola Stud. Both Studs are on Charolais Breedplan.
